David Benaym began playing hockey at age six in Nice, in the south of France, and played with various divisions of the Nice Hockey Club until his twentieth year. He was also selected for France's National Team while a high-school junior, at age sixteen.

David moved to Paris to play with the Courbevoie Hockey Association in Division 2. After five years in Paris, he moved to Washington DC where he played with the American University Eagles for two years.

After graduating college, David played a year with Washington's gay hockey club, the DC Nationals. He then moved to Belgium and took a three year hiatus from hockey. He returned to the States and to skates when he moved to New York in November, 2003. David also returned to the hockey position he's played most of his life, by playing right defense for the Wizards with the NYCGHA as an Alternate Captain. He also plays with the Lions, in D6 as a Sub.

David is a Press Correspondent for several daily and periodical newspapers in France and Belgium, and runs e-maprod, a US based production company. Many of his published articles are available online - mostly in French. He has already published two books in the US: moving still and Profile Nicola L.

David Benaym is launching a new fashion and dance magazine, movmnt with his partner, Danny Tidwell.
